WATERWAYS TOWNSHIP CELEBRATES GREAT OGEECHEE SEAFOOD FESTIVAL
Master-Planned Community Launches "Picture Yourself at WaterWays Township" Promotion Engaging 35,000 Festival attendees in Lifestyle Opportunities
Richmond Hill, Ga. WaterWays Township, a 2,300-acre gated master-planned community in south Bryan County, announced today plans to follow in the footsteps of their wildly successful "Catch the Current" event series by hosting "Picture Yourself at WaterWays Township", a consumer-focused promotion providing individuals with an opportunity to enjoy WaterWays Township's breathtaking vistas while celebrating the sights, sounds and smells available at the Great Ogeechee Seafood Festival (GOSF).
"We're so proud to be affiliated with the GOSF again this year. We've been impressed by the efficient organization and the amazing volunteers who bring this festival to life, so it is exciting for us to introduce our "Picture Yourself" campaign during this year's event," said Vance Askew sales and marketing director, WaterWays Township.
"Picture Yourself" will encourage families who attend the event from all over the coastal region to visit the WaterWays Township booth during their festival experience and to pose for keepsake portraits taken against custom backdrops featuring scenic venues from the WaterWays Township community. "With today's technology, we can take the photo, upload it on an iPad, send it to your Facebook page or smart phone, and share the experience instantly with those you love around the world.....it's like the old-fashioned photo booths on technology's next level."
The festival, in its 13th year serving the greater Savannah area hosted more than 35,000 attendees in 2010 and is looking for a five percent increase in 2011. The event, which runs from Friday, October 14, 2011 through Sunday, October 16, 2011, features 50 arts and craft booths, a 200+ classic car show, a 5K Crab Crawl run, and the internationally recognized Southern rock band, .38 Special in a Saturday night concert. The morning before the festival opens to the general public, special needs children from across the Coastal Empire are invited for a magical morning of fun and exploration. Rides are slowed, music is turned down and Kissel Entertainment dedicates its morning to serving these 100 special customers.
"Three years ago, I got involved with the festival as a volunteer," continued Askew, "and we moved our commitment to a corporate sponsorship the following year. Our chamber not only does great things for the local business community and the city of Richmond Hill, it really knows how to throw a party. It simultaneously raises funds for nonprofits while generating a great time for our local residents and visitors. It's a fantastic outcome for everyone, and it's a weekend you don't want to miss."
