Here at WaterWays, we live by the philosophy to preserve and enhance the natural vegetation that exists here in the community.

Whether it's planting, pruning, weeding or harvesting, a garden is a fun way to spend quality time with family, unwind after a long day or add healthy fruits and veggies to your family's diet.
The Bryan County extension of the University of Georgia's (UGA) College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences has put together the agricultural and natural resources gardening calendar. Specific to Bryan County plants, this calendar gives you a monthly breakdown of what to prune, when to plant and how to manage your garden. Here are a few tips for upcoming months:
- January – January is one of the best times for planting. Whether you're adding in a new fruit tree or planning this year's vegetables, prepping your soil and seeds are necessary actions for a healthy garden.
- February – Vegetables are the name of the game for February. Now is the time to plant asparagus, beets, carrots, English peas, Irish potatoes, lettuce, mustards, onions, spinach and turnip greens. It's also the best time for pruning. Show your fruit trees, grape vines, roses and crepe myrtles some love by giving them a trim.
- March – Early March calls for fertilization. Add some to trees and shrubs, but hold off on your lawn. It'll fare just fine until April when the warmer weather has arrived.
