Encouraging people to live an active lifestyle and embrace the outdoors is what we are all about here at WaterWays. Back in January, we partnered with Georgia Game Changers and hosted the Resolution Runz which was a great success and a lot of fun for everyone involved. We have caught a case of runner's high and are partnering with Georgia Game Changers for another race—the TOPO Athletic 5K and 10K Trek.
The TOPO Athletic 5K and 10K Trek is a multi-race event designed to encourage all levels of walkers and runners on unique courses here at WaterWays Township that will challenge runners, as well as allow the public to enjoy short excursions through our beautiful neighborhoods. The five-mile course includes a trek along the trails leading to the community's lagoon and along the borders of the future golf course area. The 10-mile course will begin with the five-mile course but will then take runners on an off-road adventure including multiple terrains throughout the community, the future golf course, and the highest point in Richmond Hill. While both courses are multiple terrain, the five-mile course is stroller friendly. Both races will start and finish at the WaterClub West Swim Pavilion and runners and walkers are welcome to participate in both races.
A race for everyone, there will also be a ¼ mile fun run that is perfect for kids under 12 and seniors 60 and over. The fun run will take place after the 5K and before the awards ceremony.
The entry fee for each race is $25 for the 5K and $35 for 10K, if you register online at www.active.com or at Georgia Game Changers by August 1, 2013—not to mention all pre-registered runners will receive a free t-shirt!
