Is there really any better way to become part of the community in which you live than to get involved and to provide support wherever possible? At WaterWays, we believe the answer is obvious. Whether participating in local civic organizations or hosting various events that provide support to local groups and clubs,  the leadership team at WaterWays Township values their relationship with the Richmond Hill community and the opportunity to help make our town the best place to live in all of Coastal Georgia.
In fact, last month WaterWays Township hosted the Canoe Trip for the Interact Club of Richmond Hill High School, an annual event sponsored by the Rotary Club of Richmond Hill to reward students for their hard work and service throughout the year.
The Interact Club at Richmond Hill High School is a service club that provides students opportunities to volunteer and to get involved in our local community year-round. Past activities have included beach clean-ups, canned food drives, tree plantings, and volunteering at festivals. To support the local Interact organization, the Rotary Club of Richmond Hill sponsors the annual canoe trip; an event that young, active students would enjoy while also sharing a positive experience with members of the local Rotary chapter.
With miles of winding lagoons and canals perfect for canoeing and a club house perfect for a celebratory cookout, the leadership team at WaterWays Township offered to host the annual Interact canoe trip. On Sunday, October 28, approximately 25 students and 10 Rotary members and volunteers came out to WaterWays and paddled their way through our lagoons for most of the day. As the afternoon came to a close, everyone made their way to WaterClub West for an evening cook out complete with hamburgers and hotdogs. "WaterWays Township is a first-class community, with a pristine and natural setting" said Larry Barker, President-Elect of the Rotary Club and the event's coordinator, "It was the perfect place for the kids to get outdoors, enjoy the day canoeing and explore the community."
