The best part of the season is finally here- getting your pumpkins ready for Halloween! Everyone loves to get creative with their pumpkins and now it’s time to show off your talents. Here are a few ideas to get you in the spirit as well as some tips for the not so artistically inclined.

  • Work Together. Carving pumpkins is a great family activity that can be done outdoors in the great fall weather. For an added bonus, save the pumpkin seeds and roast them for a healthy fall snack. Check out this simple recipe.
  •  Don’t carve; paint! Consider painting your pumpkin with chalkboard paint and using it like a chalkboard for the whole season! This is a great way to get creative and still keep it simple. Another fun option is to use fall leaves as stencils. Tape the leaves to the pumpkin, spray paint the pumpkin (metallic gold is always a fun color!), allow time to dry and remove the leaves. This technique is simple and sure to make your pumpkin stand out.
  •  Rep your team. Add some flare and friendly competition to the neighborhood by carving your pumpkin with your favorite sports team’s logo! While this may sound intimidating to some, do not fear. Check out these free stencils online for just about any team you can think of!
