DIY Under the Sea Halloween Costumes

October 29, 2014 by Callie Wamsley

Richmond Hill is one of the most beautiful Georgia coastline cities in the nation – and we're just as proud of the natural beauty of the coast here at WaterWays. With Halloween right around the corner, it's only fitting that we celebrate with these do-it-yourself (DIY) under the sea-themed Halloween costumes:

• Dive in – Search the deep blue with this DIY scuba diver costume. All you'll need is some spray paint, foam and an old soda bottle to dive into Halloween fun!
• By the sea – Using only ribbon, felt and a little foam, transform your child into the big blue sea. Add as many underwater sea creatures as you like!
• Mermaid tales – An oldie but goodie, this mermaid costume is still a favorite for kids of all ages. Customize your mermaid tail by picking out your favorite color fabric or add a turtleneck underneath for warmth.
• Fish tanked – Need a last-minute costume? All you need is a box, duct tape and a few plush fishies to make this outstanding indoor aquarium costume. Simply cut windows around every side of the box and hang plush fish from the top. Just be sure to keep the tank clean!
• Electric feel – Although it's not much fun to see jellyfish floating by you at the beach, they're still a beautiful sight in nature – and at Halloween! Grab an old leotard, an umbrella and some party streamers to create this electric costume that's sure to please.
