Meet the Cameron Family

The moment the Cameron family drove through WaterWays Township for the first time, they were sold. For new residents John, Dana and their children, it was the natural, peaceful and tranquil surroundings of the community paired with their love for the outdoors that convinced them that building a new life at WaterWays was the right move.

An active and outgoing family, the Camerons' desire to spend time outdoors whether they are boating, camping, fishing in the Bill Dance Signature Lake or biking along the Cottenham Trail, they love to explore new places. Son, Connor, age 12 is a First Class Boy Scout and plays percussion in the band while Caroline, age seven, plays soccer and wants to learn to play music. Dana volunteers at the Coastal Community Church and Richmond Hill Elementary School while John is an Assistant Scoutmaster with Troop 400 Boy Scouts and loves to compete in triathlons. And last but not least, Darla, the family basset hound is five and is in sensory overload loving all of the coastal smells.

Coming all the way from Arlington, Texas to put down roots, the Camerons looked at many neighborhoods before finally making their decision. Eventually they determined that few things have the same calming effect on the soul quite like the peacefulness and natural beauty of the outdoors. New to Richmond Hill and WaterWays, finding a tight-knit community was also important.

"We love to socialize and the people we have met have been wonderful! We can definitely see ourselves building lasting friendships with our neighbors here at WaterWays," said Dana.

Another factor in their decision to choose WaterWays was the element of safety they could feel right away. As a gated community, it was comforting for John and Dana that they could let Caroline and Conner meander around the neighborhood with their pals in this family-friendly and safe environment.

The Camerons are incredibly excited to engage in all the richness of community and activity that WaterWays has to offer. With the beautiful city of Savannah nearby, a plethora of events and opportunities to get connected, and all the fresh air and water-access one could ever need, there is no limit to the possibilities for them and all other members of this beautiful community!

Whether you are an existing resident or someone looking for a just the right type of active, outdoor community, WaterWays Township is a great place to call home. Just ask the Camerons!

New Bryan County Fire Station at WaterWays

Ground Breaking at WaterWays

The City of Richmond Hill and WaterWays Township were founded upon basic ideas of community, sharing and togetherness. It is these values that have long distinguished this beautiful area and are continuing to be evident as we grow and flourish. Last month, the Bryan County Emergency Medical Service and our team here at WaterWays broke ground on the new $400,000 fire station development for the Bryan County Fire Department. The two-acre site on Resource Way was chosen and donated by WaterWays Township at no cost to local tax payers.

The development team at WaterWays is excited to be a part of this project as it is not only a great addition for residents of our community, but also the surrounding area. Â Â The assurances of convenient and timely access to emergency services and support should be of great value to local residents in the immediate area.

"South Bryan County needed another fire station and WaterWays was the perfect place for it, not to mention, we have plenty of land!" said Ron Lamm – project manager, WaterWays Township. "Providing this on-site facility for first responders is another important step in the growth of our development."

WaterWays donated the land for the station as well as purchased a 55-foot combination pumper – ladder truck to be located at the station. Once complete, Bryan County will own and operate the station. The facility should be operational by fall 2013.

As noted by Bryan County Commission Chairman Jimmy Burnsed, "This facility will benefit the residents of South Bryan County without costing them a dollar of taxpayer money; WaterWays has made this day possible and the local community should be safer as a result".

Firefighters there will be responsible for everything within a five-mile radius while also providing backup for other stations in the county when necessary.

"Dream Finder Homes wanted to expand their home building footprint into Georgia's coastal region, and our vision for WaterWays Township was a perfect match with their goals and capabilities," said Vance Askew – marketing and sales director, WaterWays Township. "Not only are they building a design center and showcase home for our guests and Realtor partners to experience, they are simultaneously breaking ground on multiple homes in our Long Creek and Ridgewood Park neighborhoods."
