New Families Bring Life to WaterWays

We all know that there is no place like home. Your home is a private retreat where you and your family can relax in a world of busy schedules and long days, so of course buying a new home and putting down roots in a new community is a big decision.

So far this year, 11 new families from all over the country have made the decision to call WaterWays Township home. Enthralled with the unique lifestyle paired with homes that provide casual elegance at an affordable price, the decision to move to WaterWays couldn't have been easier for current residents.

These families spanned the gamut--from retirees who have moved to the low country in search of an active lifestyle to military families who have been stationed at one of the nearby bases or growing families looking for the right community to raise their family, our residents come from near and far to make their home with us.

Important  reasons why these families chose WaterWays as a place to put down roots include:

  • Active Lifestyle: Our natural amenities provide an active lifestyle that the entire family can enjoy. The lagoons and biking trails are the perfect natural amenity for residents to stay active. They also add extra incentive for the grandkids to visit and spend the day exploring the outdoors. Read more about the lagoons and biking trails in Life at WaterWays.
  • Family-Friendly Floor Plans: A variety of homes with unique floor plans provide residents with the perfect selection for their individual lifestyles and needs. Spacious kitchens with stainless appliances and plenty of counter space create a chic place for the gourmet chef of the house to whip up their favorite recipes for sharing with their friends, families and neighbors; while bedrooms, bonus areas and screened in porches provide plenty of room for entertaining as well as for providing privacy.
  • Location, Location, Location: Located in Richmond Hill, Georgia, WaterWays is conveniently located within a short drive to nearby military bases, the Savannah / Hilton Head Airport, and the City of Savannah. It is with this location that WaterWays residents are able to enjoy the low country lifestyle just minutes from the wealth of opportunities offered by the surrounding area. Fun at the Great Ogeechee Seafood Festival

2012 Greater Ogeechee Seafood Festival

The Great Ogeechee Seafood Festival (GOSF) is one of the largest festivals in the region and draws over 30,000 people to Richmond Hill each year. A guaranteed good time for visitors and a great way for the greater Savannah area community to come together, GOSF was the perfect opportunity for WaterWays to treat their residents to some fun "Hill Style".

For the past three years, WaterWays has served as a festival sponsor and this year was no different. The WaterWays development team continues to be impressed by the efficient organization and the amazing volunteers who bring this festival to life. The perfect reflection of the Richmond Hill community and its southern hospitality, GOSF was an event that we wanted our residents to experience firsthand. With so many families learning their new Richmond Hill community, what better way to fully introduce them than by providing tickets for them to attend the festival?

From the delicious jambalaya, mahi fingers, and peach cobbler to the talented lineup of bands and entertainment, we had such a good time interacting with our friends, residents and professional partners at the festival. Richmond Hill High School Students and the Rotary Club of Richmond Hill Enjoy the Lagoons at WaterWays

Students Kayaking at WaterWays

Is there really any better way to become part of the community in which you live than to get involved and to provide support wherever possible?   At WaterWays, we believe the answer is obvious. Whether participating in local civic organizations or hosting various events that provide support to local groups and clubs,  the leadership team at WaterWays Township values their relationship with the Richmond Hill community and the opportunity to help make our town the best place to live in all of Coastal Georgia.

In fact, last month WaterWays Township hosted the Canoe Trip for the Interact Club of Richmond Hill High School, an annual event sponsored by the Rotary Club of Richmond Hill to reward students for their hard work and service throughout the year.

The Interact Club at Richmond Hill High School is a service club that provides students opportunities to volunteer and to get involved in our local community year-round. Past activities have included beach clean-ups, canned food drives, tree plantings, and volunteering at festivals. To support the local Interact organization, the Rotary Club of Richmond Hill sponsors the annual canoe trip; an event that young, active students would enjoy while also sharing a positive experience with members of the local Rotary chapter. With miles of winding lagoons and canals perfect for canoeing and a club house perfect for a celebratory cookout, the leadership team at WaterWays Township offered to host the annual Interact canoe trip.

On Sunday, October 28, approximately 25 students and 10 Rotary members and volunteers came out to WaterWays and paddled their way through our lagoons for most of the day. As the afternoon came to a close, everyone made their way to WaterClub West for an evening cook out complete with hamburgers and hotdogs. "WaterWays Township is a first-class community, with a pristine and natural setting" said Larry Barker, President-Elect of the Rotary Club and the event's coordinator, "It was the perfect place for the kids to get outdoors, enjoy the day canoeing and explore the community."
