Spread some Christmas joy and join in the holiday spirit with friends and family this weekend in Richmond Hill. Kicking off the holiday season with a Festival of Lights and Chili Cook-Off in J. F. Gregory Park on Friday, December 2nd and the 16th Annual Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 3rd, holiday entertaining for your family has never been easier.
The Festival of Lights will feature thousands of twinkling Christmas lights illuminating many of the trees and buildings in J.F. Gregory Park. The light show will run nightly from December 2 through December 31 from 6 to 10 p.m. Tomorrow night, Mayor Harold Fowler will flip the switch to turn the lights on at 6:15 p.m., which will also include lighting Richmond Hill's Christmas tree in the park.
After the Festival of Lights, warm your family up with some delicious chili at the 10th Annual Chili Cook-Off under the pavilion beginning at 6:30 p.m. Other activities in the park will include free sleigh rides in Santa's famous toboggan, hayrides, a movie, face painting, singers in costume and much more.
The city's festivities will continue Saturday, December 3 at 10:00 a.m. with Richmond Hill's 16th annual Christmas parade. This year's theme is "A Sweet Candy Christmas." Dozens of floats and bands are already lined up for the parade, which will come down Ford Avenue and turn into city hall and J.F. Gregory Park.
If you can't be there in person, the parade will be televised live and during Christmas weekend on WGSA.
