Say goodbye to your dahlias, lilies and hydrangeas and say hello to one of nature's most hassle-free flowers – the humble mum. Now that fall is well underway – and winter is just around the corner – it's high time to show your fall plants some love! Here are some quick tips for caring for this casual chrysanthemum:
-  Easy breezy – mums are happiest when they are in the sun, have a pot of moist soil and are pinched regularly to encourage bloom after bloom.
-  Budding beauties – what you see is what you get with this flower. The more buds you see, the more flowers. Be sure to pick the pot that has the most potential; that means lots of baby buds to choose from.
- Baby it's cold outside – although Richmond Hill allows for warmer temperatures than most places, it can still get chilly over winter. Be sure to keep your mums in their pots and bring them inside for a plant that's sure to last a lifetime.
- Autumn hues – not only do mums bloom in many colors; they can also be used as décor. When choosing shades, remember to pick darker hues like burnt orange and copper; these colors last longer and fit perfectly with an autumn or winter theme.
